On Friday afternoon, Bob Corker (left) packed the Jackson Room with supporters who were treated to a visit with Minnesota Senator Norm Coleman.
Van Hilleary (center) held a Friday evening reception featuring South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham (not pictured).
Ed Bryant’s Saturday morning reception was billed as an event for Tennessee delegates, but Kansas Senator Sam Brownback (right) made an unannounced, yet unsurprising appearance.
Democrat Senate candidate Harold Ford, Jr. also made his way to the Peabody Hotel Lobby, where he visited with passers-by and local media. Ford was accompanied by Shelby County Mayor A.C. Wharton.
Newcomer Jeff Moder, who just last week abandoned his campaign, was on hand to lend support to all three remaining Republican candidates. He is pictured above (right) with Sen. Brownback.
Rosalind Kurita was the only (major) Senate candidate from either party not to be seen at the conference. But she is featured on the cover of the Memphis Flyer this week.

What did you think of Chuck Todd failing to put Condi’s name on the straw poll in Memphis? Not very realistic when Condi has maintained 20% in all national polls, while Hagel, Newt, and Brownback got almost nothing. Ok, Hagel got 3 votes. My point is that over 1400 people were not able to show who they preferred for 2008 since McCain sabotaged it with Vote for Bush (the President got 147) Can you explain why the media is still making McCain the frontrunner? He came in 5th with 66 votes. Matthews was wrong to think all the people voting for the president would have voted for McCain. The media is just in love with McCain, that is like the death wish among delegates.
