“Army stretched to breaking point.”
Rumsfeld disagrees.
It seems to me the things that are stretched to a breaking point are mainstream media credibility, the Democrats’ playbook and Michael Moore’s… well, I’ll let you finish that one.
And I guess I would add this: the thin line between some Republicans in Congress and the conservative values that put them in power in the first place.
We’re crying ourselves to sleep.
“TN Bullmoose” says,
Any attempt you may have previously made to appear unbiased against Bob Corker has now proven futile. You’ve obviously gotten your feelings hurt, and you are only pouring salt in your self-inflicted wound. Let it go, guy; ease up on the sour grapes. You are trying to make a story here from nothing.
It would have been a good catch to discover that any one of the candidates for U.S. Senate is also considering a run at the Governorship, or was, especially when contrasted with the fact that none of the other Senate candidates or any of the Tenn. Senate Republicans have been found to have taken this same step. As I said, it’s an aberration — which is what research-based reporters look for when analyzing any “story.”
And the story becomes even more interesting if this quote is legit.
More charges of bias.
A new blog called One Conservative Now has recently launched with the tagline, “Daily commentary on the 2006 U.S. Senate race in Tennessee.” Its debut post concludes this way:
…we must realize that as Tennessee conservatives, we need to stand together in support of one candidate who can carry the torch to be passed along by Senator Frist. I am confident that in the coming months, we will realize which candidate will best serve our needs. That is the essence of this blog, to set an objective: Rally Tennessee Republicans behind ONE conservative candidate…and do it now. Let us now decide who that will be…
Within hours the blog’s proprietor, writing under the alias “ae,” was challenged by an anonymous commenter. As it turns out, “ae” had already announced her decision:
I take great solace in knowing when I choose Van Hilleary to represent me in the Senate, I am choosing a citizen who understands both the right and responsibility that comes with freedom. I am confident that Senator Hilleary will choose wisely be it for national security, domestic tranquility, or the general welfare.
Still, I agree that we ought to be able to look past personal opinions.
AE isn’t the only pro-Van blogger who launched a site this week; there is also a new blog called Van Fans. We’ve added both to the growing blogroll at right.

[…] On Main Street Journal’s blog there is an item “Army stretched to breaking point.” Seems like the doom-and-gloomers are at it again. For anyone interested in reality. […]
Well, will the Tenn. Conservatives support the Republican candidate, even if it is not Mr. X ,
I say yes, the conservatives will vote for the republican candidate, no matter who wins. They have no back bone and whore themselves to the party.
